Hello!

We can’t quite believe it’s almost April already – although the past couple of week’s weather has definitely made us realise Autumn is here…which we’re not minding at all because in between rain showers the temperature has been just about perfect for riding and running (and the river’s have been up for some kayaking too!).

If you haven’t had the chance to visit the Southern Highlands since your last event with us, don’t forget the beautiful trails in Wingello State Forest and the Morton National Park are open to the public, so you can retrace some of your race route (no private property parts of course) at a much more leisurely pace.

SAVE THE DATE

Before the second half of the year books up, we wanted to make sure you have the weekend of 11-12 NOVEMBER locked in for either the Bundy Run trail run, the Highland Fling mountain bike marathon…or of course both events.

ENTRIES FOR BOTH EVENTS OPEN ON MONDAY 3 JULY 2017.

BIKING THE BOOT ITALIAN TOUR 2017

12 MAY – 1 JUNE 2017

There is still time and a little space to book on our annual Biking the Boot mountain bike trip.

Experience ancient culture with fine riding, food and wine

Biking the Boot is an incredible three-week trip that starts with a 10 day MTB tour running up the spine of the country from Rome, to Romagna. We ride through Umbria, Tuscany and finish in the Emilia Romagna region. Then, after a break in the fascinating city of Venice, we spend six days traversing the magnificent Dolomites and Italian Alps to finish in the mountain bike town of Riva Del Garda at the head of Italy’s largest lake. In total we ride some 800km.

You can book online here. Or drop us a line at info@wildhorizons.com.au for more details.

LOCAL SHOUT OUT

We’d like to do a big shout out to some lovely young local MTBers we support. Many of you would have met Verity and Maizy Evans (plus their parents Karen and Steve) volunteering at one or many of our Wild Horizons events. Well aside from off the bike volunteering, they are both pretty handy on the bike too! Here’s a shot of Verity during her recent racing in QLD at the Australian MTB Championships.

(Verity Evans captured by Russ Baker)

Keeping it in the family, you’ll see Verity is supported by FOCUS Bikes and The Fixed Wheel, plus both are supported by Maxxis Tyres. Shout out to these Sponsors for the support of these up and coming athletes!
Cheers,
The WH Team
