Introduction
In March/April 2008 a small group of Australians and Britons will attempt a ski traverse of the Central Kun Lun in the far west of Tibet. This extensive range of mountains rising from the Tibetan Plateau is almost totally unexplored and just reaching the mountains themselves poses a huge challenge. What makes the ski traverse unique is that the whole route is above 6000 metres in altitude. The team will attempt to pick a route through the glacier systems and high cols in a fully self supported journey that will take 30 days or more.
