Thanks for a great weekend. The whole event was superb and a great choice for my first mountain bike event. The organisation was great and all the competitors and locals were friendly and helpful. You did particularly well with the weather! I look forward to being back next year.

I really liked the way Huw and everyone has the whole community behind the event, makes it feel better than some other events, everyone is happy to help out and encourage each other.

I went in the casual Fling on the weekend - my first organised cycling event - and wanted to say thank you I will be aiming for the half next year. Having "come & try it" events is important the light hearted but especially non-patronising approach worked well, this participant came away inspired to push a bit harder & as I said work towards the half in 2009.

Congratulations on another success package of Fling Events over the weekend. Well done!!!

Please pass on my congratulations on a well organised and executed event. As a 1st timer with my clunky mountain bike (without suspension), I thoroughly enjoyed the Dash (just over 17min I think) and Casual Fling (about an hour I think).

I just want to say what an amazing job was done by all at wild horizons, and by the township of Bunadanoon.

A short note to say thank you to you, Huw, Wild Horizons, all of The Dark Siders and all of the people that make the Highland Fling such a wonderful event. This was my third Fling. It is the superb organisation of Wild Horizons and the community spirit of Bundanoon that really makes this THE race that I must do annually. Thank you.

Thanks for another great event. The casual fling was great to get my motivation for cycling back. The atmosphere, the fun, the spirit of camaraderie of people with like minds, the friendliness and finally the well oiled professionalism of the Maestro and his team just made for a very special day in the highlands. A day that must have the ghosts of Brigadoon trembling at their knees-The 'Island of Fling' emerging from the curse every year. In closing; my appreciation for a brilliant day and thanks to Huw, Wendy, Fi, the Dark Side, the P and C, the footballers, the SES, the great citizens and kiddies of Bundanoon and everyone else that made us visitors feel welcomed, loved and well supported through the day. The Fling this year more than exceeded my customer quality expectations. A great success.

Massive props go out to everyone involved in setting up the race and the town of Bundanoon. Such a cool place! And congrats to every one who gave it a go.

I know I won’t be the only one but THANKS HUW for all your & YOUR TEAMS hard work as a non athletic but enthusiastic MTBer I have been looking forward to the fling - this year the casual next year as will be turning 50 my intention is to complete the half (50km for 50years).

Huw and Team, thanks for a great event, my first fling...albeit only the 55km version. see you next year sans another 10kg and equipped with a lightweight dually. well done again to you all.

I secretly desired that green & gold tartan jersey but did not think I had a chance against the bigger names. I was obviously very proud to have ridden well the whole way and the superb course definitely suited me, it was a thoroughly enjoyable ride.

I have been raving about your event to all my fellow WA riders, including spreading some PR for your new BMC Event. I will be sure to return next year with a full WA clan or two.

Thanks for putting on another great event. The singletrack was a lot better than I remember in 2006. Alas, mechanicals let me down..the flesh was willing but the machine was weak (snapped chain 3 times)...in any case will be back in 09 to get well under "Mr Average." BTW...who does that rock out version of "Scotland the Brave" you were playing? It was wicked.

Just wanted to send you a quick note to say thanks. Yeah I know, we only did the 14 K ride, but we still enjoyed the fantastic atmosphere from the time we arrived in Bundanoon on Saturday right through to Sunday arvo. Nice lunch on Sunday and bottle of wine included in the entry, how do you do it! All the people involved in the event provided great services and were friendly and other Casual Flingers I chatted with were enjoying the ride too, it was a nice course. I'd better start training now so I'm ready for the Half Fling next year.

I competed in the half fling on the weekend and would like to express my Congratulations to all on organising what was an amazing experience. This was my first time in a mbt race and I found the whole experience great fun from Saturday`s check in to the socialising after the race. I would like to thank all involved for the obvious hard work that went into organising such a great event .I will definately be back (faster I hope)

I thought I'd send you an email to CONGRATULATE not only yourself, but all of your staff and volunteers for putting on a great weekend of racing/riding.

The Fling has been one of my first MTB events after a number of years or European road racing and National Track Teams. After a cycling career at that level I was very pleased to see the way the past weekend was organised, run and managed.

I have to say what a fantastic day, and superbly run event, I am still on a high, even breaking my chain on the climb after the third water crossing did not put a dampener on the day, it did screw up my time but who cares when you are having such a fantastic time. You and all the organizers are to be congratulated and pats on the back all around!!

 

Thanks heaps for arranging my first MTB Marathon! What a blast, and what a great weekend! Very happy with how it all went, including my own performance (which included simply surviving the Half Fling successfully).

Thanks for another awesome event yesterday. The meal at the end of the race was also perfect!!!!!! Easy to digest after a long day in the saddle. Thanks heaps to all involved.

Let me add my thanks to the many messages you would have received for the Fling. As always, a great ride, well organised, signposted and supported. It is very much an anchor event in the calendar of rides – from the dinner on Saturday night, to the coffee on Sunday morning to the cold can of coke on Sunday afternoon, every part of the weekend is savoured.

It’s a great event and it’s fantastic to see the local community providing so much support. Overall it’s a great weekend away.

Once again, a great event. This is my 3rd year and it is always a pleasure to ride the course, interact with the riders and acknowledge the volunteers.

Thanks to you, and to everyone involved in making this years Highland Fling another memorable one. This was my second expedition down to lovely Bundanoon, a mate and I did the Half last year, and stepped up to the Full this year, with the Forest NSW Stage being all we had been warned about and more, I can easily see the Fling becoming a much anticipated annual addiction.

Hi all, thanks for a great event this year, the event organisation, trail quality and weather was all superb.....I even beat my best time by 15mins!

Thank you so much for such a fantastic event. I did it two years ago and declared it the absolute best mtb race I'd ever done. It certainly didn't disappoint this year, and remains an all time favourite.
