The Focus Rock&Road has its Event Centre based at the Rydal Showgrounds. Both the Rock and the Road loops start and finish at the Event Centre.
The course consists of 2 loops, firstly the Road section and then the Rock section.
The Road Section: The roads linking the towns of Rydal, Sodwalls, Tarana and O’Connell are not only picturesque but also some of the nicest cycling roads in the area.
For those competing in the MAX R&R, the Road loop heads out through these towns as far as O’Connell then loops back to Tarana, then returns along the same route to Rydal. Those competing in the MINI R&R go as far as Tarana, and then return along the same route.
The Rock Section: Lidsdale State Forest is Central Tablelands MTB club’s home and they have done great work in establishing a single track network there. Linking this with fire trails through both pine and native forests, an enjoyable yet challenging course has been set.
Those competing in the MAX R&R complete an approximately 36km course, while those in the MINI R&R complete a shortened 20km course.
