We invite you to join us for the Wine and Wheels cycling tour!
Enjoy a caffeine fix at Ye Olde Bicycle Shoppe in Bundanoon before a leisurely 9km ride to St Maur Estate, enjoying the views of lush green farmlands and rolling countryside along the way. We also hope to take you to a stunning lookout over the vast expanses of the Morton National Park.
A world class vineyard and cellar door with the feel of a Northern Italian cantina, St Maur is located on the site of an old dairy farm and, at 700m above sea level, is perfectly positioned for the production of quality cool climate wines. The estate itself goes back nearly 200 years to the days of the famous Australian explorer John Oxley. Since 1976 the land has been owned by the Panizzutti family who planted the vineyard in 1998. Their wines are all created using the traditional methods of Northern Italy, producing wonderful colour and flavour. Best known for their Pinot Noir, stocked by some of Sydney’s finest restaurants, St Maur also produces a Cabernet Merlot and an outstanding Chardonnay.
At St Maur we’ll enjoy a delicious antipasto platter and tasting of their excellent wines before meandering back to Bundanoon on quiet country roads. On our return we invite you to join us for lunch at Ye Olde Bicycle Shoppe (optional, at own cost).
The total riding will be around 18km (or 25km including National Park lookout) and a vehicle will be on hand to pick up any purchases you might make. You’ll need either a mountain bike or a hybrid that can handle some gravel off-road riding. Bike hire can be arranged at an additional cost, see below.
